Hosted Billing

Monthly billing counts, without the logins.

Hosted Billing queries every hosted 3CX server you add and reports what you need for invoices: valid user extensions, voicemail transcriptions, recording storage and more.

  • Every server in one report
  • Licensed in blocks of 10 servers
  • Export to PDF, Excel or CSV
Why hosting providers use it

Stop logging in to every customer's 3CX to count extensions.

Gathering the 3CX information you need for invoices is tedious and slow when you do it server by server. Hosted Billing gathers it and reports it for you.

Server by server, every month
With Hosted Billing
Sign in to each customer's 3CX management console, one at a time
Add each server once, then click Query 3CX to collect data from all of them
Count extensions yourself and remember to skip dummy extensions used for routing or templates
Extension counts for every customer, leaving out extensions that contain text you choose
Check each system to see who turned on voicemail transcription
A Transcribe column shows whether transcription is enabled on each server
Look up how much recording storage each customer is using
Used space against the recording storage limit, and whether the quota has been reached
Copy the numbers into your invoicing by hand
Export the report to PDF, XLS, XLSX, RTF or CSV
How it works

Add your servers once. Query them whenever you bill.

Servers screen

Every hosted server, in one list.

Enter the customer name, a server name, the 3CX management console address and its login. Hosted Billing tests the connection and marks the server Authorized before it will query it.

  • Choose what to extract: extension count, simultaneous calls, transcriptions and recording storage
  • Exclude extensions that contain text you choose, so they are not counted
  • Click Query 3CX to collect the data
Reports

Group the report the way you bill.

The Reports screen shows every server side by side. Drag a column above the headers to group the report by it, such as 3CX version or reseller, and expand each group.

  • Extension count, extensions and trunks currently registered, active calls
  • License and support expiry, last backup and public IP
  • CPU, memory and disk use
Server details

Click a customer to see the whole server.

Click a customer name in the report to open that server's details: general information, PBX status, system information and recordings.

  • Server and web meeting FQDN, version, reseller and license key
  • Trunks, extensions, active calls and blacklisted IPs
  • Disk use, used recording space and recording quota status
Built for hosting providers

Automatic refresh

Set a refresh interval in seconds and the Reports page refreshes each server's information.

CPU and memory alerts

Choose who gets an email when a server's CPU or RAM reaches 90%.

License and support dates

See when each server's 3CX license and support expire, and when it was last backed up.

Export for invoicing

Questions

Hosted Billing questions, answered.

Anything else? Our team answers 24/7 from the USA, India and the Philippines.

Is Hosted Billing part of the VoIPTools Subscription?+
No. Hosted Billing is sold separately. You buy it based on the number of 3CX servers you need to monitor, in blocks of 10 servers.
How many licenses do I need?+
One license covers up to 10 servers. For example, 17 servers need 2 licenses, which cover 20, and 51 to 60 servers need 6.
Who is it for?+
Providers who host 3CX for their customers and need extension counts, transcription use and recording storage for monthly invoices.
How does it connect to each server?+
You add the server's 3CX management console address with a username and password. Hosted Billing checks the login first. You cannot query a server until connectivity is verified.
Which 3CX versions can it read?+
It authenticates with hosted 3CX servers on v18 or v20. The machine that runs Hosted Billing needs the requirements listed below.
Can I leave test or routing extensions out of the count?+
Yes. Add text to Exclude Extensions That Contain, and extensions with that text are not counted in the report.
Does it create the invoices?+
It gathers and reports the 3CX information you need to create invoices. Export the report and use it in your own invoicing.
Can I remove a server later?+
Yes, but an authorized server cannot be deleted for 35 days.
Can you set it up for us?+
Yes. Our paid Installation Support team can log in to your servers, then install and configure Hosted Billing for you.
