3CX has officially released v20 Update 8 to production after a full beta cycle that included multiple alpha builds, beta builds, and release candidates. Throughout this entire process, we have been actively testing our VoIPTools add-ons against each new Update 8 iteration as it became available.

It’s important to note that 3CX has occasionally introduced changes between the final release candidate and the production release. Because of that history, we started testing the production build immediately on the day it was released (a little over a week ago).

We currently have 35 different add-ons, and validating each one takes time—especially when we do it properly, including install/upgrade checks, core feature validation, edge-case scenarios, and regression testing where applicable. As a result, completing full production verification takes several days.

Here’s where things stand today:

• Confirmed compatibility through the final Update 8 release candidate: All add-ons have been tested and validated on the last RC build.
• Production testing in progress: We are actively working through the full suite of add-ons on the production Update 8 release.
• No issues found so far: Up to this point, we have not identified any breaking changes in the production release compared to the final release candidate.

While we don’t anticipate problems, we want to be transparent: we will only mark Update 8 production as fully confirmed once each and every add-on has completed testing on the final production build. We expect to finish this remaining validation over the next few days, and we’ll update this post (and our download page status message) as soon as testing is complete.
